Applications, Technology and Small Business Specialist
The primary objective of this position is to assist Small Business clients (5-80 employees) with the design, selection and implementation of productivity enhancing technology-based business solutions.
This position is suited for a well rounded individual with a strong business acumen balanced with a technical skill set.
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access) and Crystal Reports is required along with knowledge of automation techniques using macros, VB script, and DOS batch programming desired.
Experience working with/in the following departments along with experience with one or more of the following applications is desired:
Sales / Marketing:
- ACT!
- Goldmine
- Saleslogix
- Saleforce.com
Accounting / Finance
- QuickBooks
- Peachtree
- Quicken
- MAS90 / MAS500
- Dynamics
- Solomon
- or Other Accounting Systems
Additional skills and experience desired include:
- Ability to design, create and maintain template based web sites
- Experience with manipulating data from multiple sources
- Experience with MSDE, SQL and/or SharePoint
- Experience with email and fax automation processes
- Experience with online credit card processing services
Job Requirements:
Understanding of fundamental business and accounting concepts
- Understanding of the purpose and basic requirements for various departments in an organization (HR, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, Development, etc.)
- Understanding of fundamental computer technology and concepts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business process and applications subject matter.
Required Competencies:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years business/technology experience. Masters Degree preferred.
Hours and Travel
The person in this position is expected to work during normal business hours but may, as our clients' needs dictate, be called upon to work during non-business hours (nights or weekends). These non-business hour situations are typically infrequent and often known well in advance.
The person in this position will be available during non-business hours to provide guidance to field engineers in the event of an emergency and other related purposes.
This position requires travel to client sites within Eastern Massachusetts, predominantly on the North Shore but periodically to Boston or the South Shore.
Compensation
This is a full-time salaried position with medical benefits (Blue Cross HMO Blue) and educational assistance. Part-time candidates will be considered. Base salary is negotiable based on experience and skill sets.
